"At least one point in BJP's manifesto reflects their true intentions", Congress wrote this evening on its official Twitter handle.

Earlier in the day, the BJP 's 43-page manifesto has introduced a number of perks for women in its Lok Sabha election manifesto which was released today by PM Narendra Modi, along with the BJP's top leadership including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley.

"The language that Congress speaks is the same language that Pakistan also speaks".

He said Modi, like Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was electioneering based on "fear and nationalist feeling".

The Prime Minister's comments were in response to Congress President Rahul Gandhi's tweets that said the BJP's manifesto is short-sighted and a reflection of the voice of an isolated man. "Had Congress leaders acted wisely during the pre-independence era, this Pakistan would not have born", Modi stated.

Slamming Congress-NCP alliance for backing separate PM for Jammu and Kashmir, Modi said, "The country has no expectations with Congress party but Sharad sahab you!"

The BJP leader also referred to efforts being made by Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao to form a Federal Front.


He said the Modi government was planning to set up a tribal university in the state and had also completed many railway projects pending for years in the state.

"Both Congress and Pakistan want that our soldiers don't get the strength that they need to tackle the menace of terror", Narendra Modi said in Maharashtra's Latur.

The prime minister mentioned the defence forces in his election speech despite the Election Commission directing parties to keep them out of election campaigns.

India's general elections are scheduled to be held in seven phases starting from April 11.

In its manifesto last week, the main opposition Congress party pledged to create more jobs, hand money to India's poorest and change a law on special powers for troops in Kashmir.

Referring to Balakot air strike which took place in the wake of Pulwama attack, Modi said that people should dedicate their first vote to those who carried out air strike.

PPD stalwart Muzaffar Hussain Baig had won the Baramulla seat in 2014 general election but he chose not to seek re-election this time.
