Browns' Ogbah no-shows, expects trade

A few minutes later, the rest of the National Football League learned why Ogbah' was excited, as the Kansas City Chiefs acquired him in a trade from the Cleveland Browns.

Ogbah, 25, was drafted in the second round (32nd overall) of the 2016 draft and has 12.5 sacks in three seasons with the team.

Ogbah started all 40 games that he played for Cleveland since he was drafted out of Oklahoma State. In return, the Chiefs will send the Browns safety Eric Murray. The first pick of 2016's second round, Ogbah is known around Browns fandom for his pass-swatting prowess, among other positive traits at the defensive end position. When Ogbah is traded, only three players will remain from the 14 taken in the 2016 draft.

Ogbah didn't report for the start of the Browns' offseason program Monday in anticipation of being traded.

Murray, 25, is entering his fourth season and coming off a 2018 campaign in which he started nine games.

The Cleveland Browns continue to be extremely active this offseason and made yet another trade on Monday afternoon.

The Chiefs have added defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah to their roster. The team finished next-to-last in passing defense last season. After shipping away Jabrill Peppers in the Odell Beckham Jr. trade, and cutting Derrick Kindred, the Browns had a real need at safety. He missed six games in 2017 with a broken right foot and missed two games last season with an ankle injury.
