While no one matched all six balls, three tickets matched the five white balls to take home second-place prizes.

Even if a ticket buyer had missed out on jackpot amount but has managed to win any of other prizes offered, he or she is recommended to sign the name on the ticket to ensure it can not be mistakenly claimed by another. That ticket is worth $1 million, as is one sold in Pennsylvania.

However, there were two $1 million tickets sold.

The jackpot has been climbing since December 26 when a NY man won the $298.3 million grand prize. He said he made a decision to purchase a few lottery tickets and picked the numbers based on family members birthdays.

Powerball numbers are drawn every Wednesday and Saturday and anyone can get hold of a ticket from the thousands of lottery retailers. For example, states such as IL closes sale of tickets three hours before the numbers are drawn. However, you can also check out which local TV affiliate has the drawing where you live with Powerball's complete listings.

And when it comes to how to watch, you can tune in to Powerball's YouTube channel. Wednesday's estimated jackpot is $550million.
