Lakers Rumors: LeBron James set to return vs Los Angeles Clippers

The Lakers entered Wednesday in ninth place in the Western Conference with a 26-25 record - including a 6-11 mark since James went down on December 25.

According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, James will make his much-anticipated return to the Lakers lineup tonight.

It's been a while since we've seen LeBron James wear anything but a suit, as the Los Angeles Lakers star suffered a groin injury during the team's win over the Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day.

"Definitely ecstatic about being back out there with my guys, but being out five weeks, I'm feeling it right now", James said afterward. Their schedule is about to get very hard, so having their best player back in the lineup will be a major boost.

"I am at 80 percent right now, but I was good enough to feel confident to just keep pushing throughout the game", he said.

Now both James and Rondo are healthy and the Lakers need everything they can get out of them on Thursday.

He showed little rustiness despite the longest absence of his 16-year career as he played 40 minutes, grabbed 14 rebounds, delivered nine assists and scored the go-ahead basket with 1min 15sec left.

Coming off of an All-Star snub, Clippers forward Tobias Harris is going to be motivated to play one of his best games of the season.

Lou Williams scored 24 points off the bench to lead the Clippers, who had won 22 of their previous 25 matchups against the Lakers. Then the Lakers return home for two days before embarking on a four-game, seven-day road trip through Indiana, Boston, Philadelphia and Atlanta.

"You can't control your destiny in this league, but you can control your work ethic and how great you want to be".
