'Stranger Things' Reveals Season 3 Release Date

"Stranger Things" fans have been hard at work attempting to crack some of the cryptic clues contained in the almost four-minute-long video.

In a new teaser trailer released at 12:01 a.m., Netflix revealed that the third season of "Stranger Things" will premiere on July 4, 2019. Along with this, Netflix has also announced the release date of the acclaimed science fiction-horror web television series.

The announcement came in the form of a brief teaser, interspersing footage from a 1985 New Year's special with cryptic transmissions by way of a creepy computer display. The almost four-minute-long clip takes viewers back to New Years' Eve 1985, specifically Dick Clark's iconic New Year's Rockin' Eve broadcast. The words "When blue and yellow meet in the West" flash across the screen around the 0:14 mark. We're not done fighting the monsters from the Upside Down, and the new teaser trailer makes that very clear.

Netlfix bestowed a New Year's gift to all Stranger Things fans last night: the release date of the show's third season.

"We're thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out", Ross Duffer told Vulture a year ago.

"Hearts were heard breaking in Netflix headquarters when the Brothers made four seasons sound like an official end, and I was suddenly getting phone calls from our actors' agents", says Levy.

We'll be sure to let you know when we find out more information about the new season.
