A deputy from the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office who responded to the scene on Monday morning says he arrived at the scene to find two men engaged in a scuffle. The 14-year-old had just gotten out of the shower and was getting dressed, said the report.

Tony Beckham told WPBF-TV in West Palm Beach that he found the man, leering into his 15-year-old daughter's room right after she had showered with his trousers undone and fondling himself.

"I couldn't believe it.

I'm sorry that it happened to him", Beckham told WPBF News. Cassidy, whom police say has an OH driver's license, described himself as a transient.

Cassidy claimed he just happened to be walking by the house because his vehicle had broken down nearby and that Beckham was mistaken about his accusations.

Cassidy was then taken to a hospital, where he was diagnosed with a fractured cheekbone and eye socket stemming from his encounter with the former football player.

Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office/Getty Images Geoffrey Cassidy, left, received a beating after ex-NFL defensive back Tony Beckham, right, allegedly caught him masturbating outside his house.

"I'm sorry that it happened to me".

It was about 6:40 a.m. Monday when Tony Beckham, who played for the Tennessee Titans and Detroit Lions, walked out of his home in Wellington, Florida, and heard a sound.

With a black eye and several broken bones in his face, the 48-year-old was booked into the West Detention Center and held on a $1,500 bond but a judge ordered the man to never come around the Beckham family again.

The suspect, Geoffrey Cassidy, faces charges of lewd and lascivious behaviour with someone younger than 16 in the case. The Titans drafted Beckham in the fourth round of the 2002 draft.
