Clemson QB Praises Trump's Fast Food Banquet: 'It Was Awesome'

When the Clemson University football team was invited for dinner at The White House to honor their national championship win, Trump thought it would be a nice gesture to serve them stacks of cold fast food from McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, and Domino's on silver platters by candlelight.

Republican Rep. Rodney Davis of IL says that "if you don't show up at the table, how are we ever going to come to a solution?" "Lots of hamburgers, lots of pizza", Trump said.

"We have Big Macs, we have Quarter Pounders with cheese", he said.

"But the longer this kind of thing goes on the more drawn out it becomes, the more stretched people become and the more likely it becomes that somebody makes a mistake, which obviously nobody wants to see happen", he said.

If Trump isn't elected for a second term, he appears to have a new goal in his sights: representing star quarterback Trevor Lawrence when he's eligible for the 2021 NFL Draft.

"It seems to me like the president will not be happy until there is not one single female Republican voter in the country", Walsh said during Monday's broadcast of Burnett's show.

Members of the Clemson Tigers football team peruse the selection of fast food in the State Dining Room of the White House, Jan. 14, 2019.

"I think they should all get together and deal with it", Baker said.

The President reportedly paid for the food himself because numerous White House staff are furloughed due to the partial government shutdown, Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley told CNN in a statement.

"The president has laid out what he thinks a good plan is", Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Iowa, told reporters outside the White House at the conclusion of the lunch. He announced: "If it's American [food], I like it". Because of the Shutdown I served them massive amounts of Fast Food (I paid), over 1000 hamburgers etc.

Even though Trump is focused on pushing Democrats to return to the negotiating table, it was the president who walked out of the most recent talks last week after Pelosi told him she would not yield to his demands.

Trump and Democrat leaders are at an impasse over funding for the southern border wall, one of Trump's main campaign promises.

"The Clemson championship team, the national championship team will be coming tonight, it'll be exciting", Trump said when speaking to reporters outside the White House.

Social media was confused at first, then many were amazed to see the actual spread that the president is providing.

The White House is operating with a thinned-out staff caused by the partial government shutdown, now in its 24th day, and snowy Washington weather.
