Brahim Diaz presented as new Real Madrid player

The club clearly rate the youngster high enough to bother installing this clause in the player's contract, though it does seem petty that City have tried to put Madrid off of selling Diaz to their crosstown rivals. FC has been told that he has grown frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities. The frustration finally boiled over in recent months, with the player intent on calling it quits at Manchester City.

At the presentation club president Florentino Perez stated: "We keep working to reinforce our squad with the best talent...." That percentage will rise to 40 per cent if Real were to sell to "any other Manchester club", meaning United would surely never be able to get their hands on the player.

Manchester City though, were keen on keeping hold of the highly rated Spaniard, whose deal at Etihad was due to run out in the summer.

"Real Madrid have won the Champions League and Club World Cup double for the third time in a row and for the fourth time in the last five years".

Diaz was a ball boy at Malaga, where Isco played between 2011 and 2013 before his move to Los Blancos.

Monday's news agenda in Spain was also driven by footage that showed Gareth Bale leaving the Santiago Bernabeu with 12 minutes to go of the Real Sociedad game. However, Sancho left in 2017 and has been become a huge success at Borussia Dortmund and Brahim has now chose to follow him out of the club.

For now, it looks like the 19-year-old will be integrated into Santiago Solari's first-team setup, much like Vinicius Junior has been this season.
