Epic Games Announces Fortnite Creative

For a while now Fortnite has catered for pretty much everyone, from the solo-gamer in the Save the World mode to the online player in the ridiculously popular Battle Royale.

Epic Games has already given us a Playground mode that gives players an hour to do whatever they want.

In a nutshell: If you like playing Fortnite but have grown exhausted of playing on the same island every time, Creative Mode will let you create your own scenery for a change of pace, and it could be used as a virtual gathering place, since you can invite specific people to join you and play mini games like basketball and golf cart racing. "It's all happening on your own private island where everything you make is saved", writes Epic in a recent blog post. As of next Thursday, Dec. 13, everyone will be able to play the Creative mode. It's a bit like the Custom Server options in games like PUBG, but Fortnite's version kicks things up a notch by allowing hosts and friends to rearrange the map as they see fit.

Season 7 of Fortnite is nearly here and it looks set to be one of the games biggest ever updates.

In May of this year, the free-to-play Fortnite topped $1 billion United States dollars in revenue.

A new Minecraft-style creative mode is also set to launch some time in the next week or so with an official announcement expected to be made at The Game Awards. Epic Games halted the development for Unreal Tournament.

For more information on Fortnite Creative, including demonstrations from a handful of the community's most imaginative members, head over to the Epic Games website. But as "Fortnite's" popularity increased with the release of its free Battle Royale mode, resources were pulled from other parts of the studio to focus on "Fortnite".
