Oprah: 'Not Trying to Test Any Waters' With Abrams Speeches

"I paid to come here myself, and I approved this message", Winfrey said, explaining that she tracked down Abrams' cell phone number and called her to say she wanted to offer assistance in the final days of the campaign. I don't wanna go in those waters, ' she said, shaking her head and waving her finger.

Winfrey sparked 2020 chatter earlier this year after her inspiring speech last January at the 2018 Golden Globes while accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award.

"I'm here today because Stacey Abrams cares about the things that matter".

Winfrey told the crowd that anyone that chose not to vote is ignoring the challenges others had to face. In a video posted on her Instagram, Winfrey knocked on the red door of a brick house, and a woman named Denise came to the door. "You are disrespecting and disregarding their legacy, their suffering and their dreams, when you don't vote".

"I'd like to remind Stacey and Oprah and Will Ferrell, I'm kind of a big deal, too", Pence said, in an apparent reference to a line from Ferrell's hit 2004 film, "Anchorman". Winfrey continued, despite the woman's surprise. He was there stumping on behalf of Georgia secretary of state and GOP candidate Brian Kemp.

Mr Pence has criticised Ms Abrams for using Ms Winfrey during her campaign.

Abrams would be the first black female governor in American history, and she's sought the post as an unapologetic liberal trying to draw new voters to the polls and prove that Georgia's growth and diversity make it a legitimate two-party battleground.

More than 1.5 million Georgians already have cast ballots.

"I've earned the right to do what I want to do when I want to do it".

"I'm canvassing for Stacey Abrams", Winfrey says to a shocked Georgia resident who opened her front door to find the media mogul on her doorstep holding a clipboard.
