Manchester City are fearing the worst as superstar midfielder Kevin de Bruyne suffered another knee injury upon his return to action on Thursday evening.

However, the Belgium worldwide sustained an issue with his opposite knee during a coming together with Timothy Fosu-Mensah, and it has left the playmaker facing another spell on the sidelines.

De Bruyne went down the tunnel after being immediately substitute and Pep Guardiola admitted afterwards that the club would have to wait on a scan.

It was the only sour moment on a comfortable night for City as they eased into the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup.

Brahim's two starts this season have both come in the Carabao Cup, with the former Malaga youngster not featuring in any of City's Premier League or Champions League matchday squads so far this term.

"We have been a little bit harder on them in training with the chances that they have", he said. "Brahim made two goals, We didn't concede too many chances but Aro gave us good security when the ball was there".

"He knows we want him, but after that, it's down to his agent and himself". We're delighhted to have him with us.

"He knew that from the beginning and he made a decision to stay". Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero were among those who didn't make it off the bench.

"When you come back you can not expect in one day to be the player we know he is, he needs time to settle, take the rhythm, the pace".

"Today again he was involved with everything offensively and defensively, so hopefully what happened in the last minutes is not serious".
