Actor Alec Baldwin arrested over parking fight

Actor Alec Baldwin was arrested Friday for assault related to a dispute over a parking spot, according to NY police.

It happened on East 10th Street near University Place, according to the NYPD.

Police say Baldwin claimed he had a family member holding the spot when a man driving a station wagon pulled up and took it.

A spokeswoman at the Department of Information told Heavy that a man had called 911 to report that Baldwin had punched him in the face.

"It looks like it was a dispute over the parking spot, and the person in custody punched him", Mason said. He is expected to be charged with assault, sources said.

A representative for Baldwin did not immediately respond to the arrest.

Baldwin was previously arrested in Manhattan for allegedly riding his bicycle on the wrong side of the street and acting belligerently toward officers.

This is not the first time the actor has been in trouble with law enforcement.

SNL airs a new episode this Saturday night, with host Jonah Hill; NBC had no comment on whether Baldwin was slated to reprise his role as President Donald Trump in that episode, and whether that might change in light of Friday's arrest.

Also that year, his cable talk show was canceled after he allegedly yelled an anti-gay slur at a reporter.
