Rihanna turned down NFL Halftime Show in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick

Ahead of last February's Super Bowl, reports surfaced that Jay-Z had turned down the NFL's Super Bowl halftime offer, purportedly because of the league's treatment of Kaepernick.

"But she stuck to what's right in her eyes", the source said.

Kaepernick has famously kneeled during the pre-game national anthem in protest of police brutality against Black people.

The athlete faced some serious backlash from within the National Football League and among conservatives but was also supported by a slew of other players and celebs.

It appears Rihanna is standing with Kaep. She reportedly did so because she doesn't agree with NFL's stance on Colin Kaepernick.

'She is definitely being considered, but it's obviously way too early to say for sure, ' one source said.

Kaepernick has been without a team since he opted out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers in March 2017.

Now that the reason for Rihanna's absence has been made public, Maroon 5 are facing pressure to turn down the show as well.

Another outlet reports that Maroon 5 was actually the third choice to perform at Super Bowl LIII. So Cardi B, Christina Aguilera, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar are all possible, ' a source shared with HollywoodLife.

The Super Bowl halftime show is an undeniable boon for practically any artist on the planet.
