Deon Dublin: Jose Mourinho has sucked the life out of Manchester United

Manchester City overcame a first-minute setback to relaunch their Champions League campaign with a 2-1 victory at Hoffenheim, clinched by a late David Silva victor, on Tuesday.

Speaking after the game against Hoffenheim, Guardiola singled out Silva for praise, expressing his belief that the midfielder is one of the best in the business.

City fell behind to a goal from Ishak Belfodil inside 60 seconds at the Rheine-Neckar-Arena and while Sergio Agüero soon equalised they had to wait until the 87th minute for Silva's finish to claim victory.

Liverpool have certainly improved since Virgil van Dijk was brought in, so I'd go for them.

The Champions League match between Hoffenheim and Manchester City will be broadcast live on TNT.

Hoffenheim have won just one of their previous nine matches in European competition (D3 L5), beating Istanbul Basaksehir in last season's Europa League. "Manchester City is a fantastic club, but we don't have a history of having to fight and we fought for absolutely everything here".

The Argentinian had a total of seven chances, five in the first-half alone, and moments later Hoffenheim goalkeeper Oliver Baumann had to palm yet another Aguero shot over the crossbar. For me it's a surprise when they say City will win.

After defeat to Lyon a fortnight ago, it had looked like being another frustrating night for City in Group F until Silva pounced on a defensive mistake three minutes from time.

City's growing frustrations bubbled over when left-back Kyle Walker was booked for a crunching tackle on Hoffenheim right wing Pavel Kadelabek.

Hoffenheim's home debut in the Champions League group stages started perfectly for the high-flying "village club" who have come so far so quickly in the Bundesliga, with Algerian Belfodil latching on to a neat through ball from Kerem Demirbay to slot home.

Despite losing their opening match, City are still favourites to go through from Group F.
