Nick Foles to open season for Eagles

The Eagles have used Foles as their starter throughout the preseason while Wentz continues to recover.

Everyone knows that Nick Foles will start for the Eagles in Week 1, and Doug Pederson is not happy about it.

With quarterback an uncertainty, and top wide receiver Alshon Jeffery not expected to play Thursday, Ajayi could be heavily featured against the Falcons. Will that be enough time for Wentz to be cleared for contact?

Foles and the Eagles will begin their Super Bowl defense on September 6 by hosting the Falcons at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

"A little bit, yeah, a little bit". The second-year quarterback threw 33 touchdowns and just seven interceptions in 13 starts last season to win 11 games. "I don't want to put my game plan out there for everybody to see it and read it and teams can scheme. Matt Ryan will be our starting quarterback".

Wentz had a chance to become the NFL MVP before his injury. Given the struggles Foles has had during training camp and the preseason thus far, this wasn't what the fans were hoping for, regardless of the heroics Foles performed in last year's playoffs. Sunday marked the first full practice of the regular season, with Atlanta preparing for its Thursday night season opener at Philadelphia. The Eagles were 10-2 when they arrived in L.A.to play the Rams and won that see-saw game after Wentz departed with the lead - although they fell behind again before Foles and the defense brought them back. That might help Wentz be ready by then.

The wait is over and any advantage the Eagles tried to convince us they were getting by waiting is now gone.
