The new software typically becomes available each fall, which means Apple will nearly certainly announce official release dates for each operating system at its event on September 12. While actual U.S. prices might differ, Goldman Sachs has revised its own estimates, saying that the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone, a.k.a. iPhone XC, will actually sell for $849, instead of the expected $699. The most affordable new iPhone will feature a design similar to the current-generation iPhone X but with a 6.1-inch LCD screen, slightly wider bezels, an aluminum housing in place of stainless steel, and slightly less impressive specs that will help Apple sell the phone for much less than the two flagship models. According to Geskin, the images are only of "dummy models", not actual handsets, but his information lines up with much of what we've already heard about the phone.

We previously reported on Apple's entry-level mobile, but we didn't know exactly what the devices would look like (apart from, you know, an iPhone). It'll have a roughly 6.1-inch screen with LCD instead of newer OLED technology.

"There is nothing in their product line-up that isn't working for them in the premium segment of the market, so there is no imperative for them to break that mold", NPD analyst Stephen Baker said of Apple likely sticking with modest improvements in new iPhones this year. The iPhone XS will start around £973 and the iPhone XS Plus around £1,105. The Plus version of the iPhone X will be named iPhone XS Plus.

Beyond phones and watches, Apple is planning a series of other products later this year, although not all of them will be revealed on Wednesday. Apart from that, the leak confirms that the new iPhones won't be so cheap.

Oh, and you may have noticed "iPhone Xs Max" mentioned up there; that's the rumoured name of the 6.5-inch model. In the case of this year's iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max, we're expecting a sleek new gold finish to be made available in addition to silver and space gray.

According to a report from Bloomberg, Apple is aiming to launch AirPower in September, which means there's a chance the release date will be unveiled on September 12.

Apple is hosting its annual event on 12th September.

One more thing: the new iPhones - or at least one of them - could also support the Apple Pencil.

While the iPhone Xr is expected to be the cheapest iPhone of the year, it could still cost comparatively higher than the regular iPhone 8 from last year, though.
