Yerry Mina Left In Transfer Limbo After Manchester United Deal Collapses

Everton have been chasing the signature of Mina since his exploits at the World Cup and appear to have stolen a march on the likes of Manchester United in the race to sign him.

Manchester United have withdrawn their interest in signing Barcelona defender Yerry Mina, Goal understands.

Manchester United were initially linked with Alderweireld but Spurs' asking price of £75m proved a big stumbling block.

Sources have confirmed to ESPN FC that Barca have received approaches for Mina from several clubs, including Premier League sides, following the Colombian defender's impressive World Cup. It is not either of the aforementioned players, as the Express claim that the Red Devils will tie up a £60million deal to sign Tottenham star Toby Alderweireld before the transfer window shuts. He was one of the best performers for Columbia in that tournament and even came close to breaking England hearts when he scored a last-minute equaliser against them to force the game into extra time.

Silva has already signed Richarlison and Lucas Digne this summer.

Mina joined Barcelona from Palmeiras in January this year.

Barcelona chief Jordi Mestre was coy on Mina when quizzed about the Everton and United target today.

United are running out of time to add to their summer signings, with the transfer window closing on Thursday, a day before their Premier League campaign begins with a home match against Leicester. He has been at Spurs for three seasons and made 21 appearances last season.

This summer the club have also since signed Clement Lenglet from Sevilla, a move that would make first-team opportunities for Mina even more hard.
