Rudy Giuliani says Donald Trump team preparing report to counter Robert Mueller

"Is it just me or does Rudy Giuliani always seem to call into cable news shows to clear things up he said on other cable news shows?"

Giuliani told The Daily Beast that this included reporters from The New York Times, such as the paper's star Trump reporter Maggie Haberman, who had reached out about the alleged pre-meeting meeting.

Trump has for months said there was "no collusion" between his campaign aides and Russian Federation and that as president he did not attempt to block Mueller's probe.

But there are plenty of specific laws on the books that could apply if Trump's presidential campaign is found to have collaborated with Moscow, including a conspiracy to defraud the United States.

Instead, Comey continued, the question is whether any Americans conspired with a foreign government to commit crimes against the United States, which is a crime.

The President's lawyers had previously offered the special counsel written answers to obstruction questions and limiting the interview to matters before his presidential inauguration, which are largely confined to collusion.

The investigation also has exposed Moscow's aggressive outreach to the Trump campaign, including a promise of "dirt" on Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in a meeting attended by Trump's son, Donald Trump Jr.

Since Mueller's investigation began in spring 2017, the probe has resulted in criminal charges against several Russian nationals, five Americans and one Dutch citizen and three corporate entities. Papadopoulos, a former Trump campaign adviser, has since pleaded guilty to making a false statement to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is cooperating with the Mueller probe. My favorite is when he was comparing the Cohen and Mueller beef with President Trump to the Kennedy assassination and when Julius Caesar was killed - no hyperbole at all.

Over the weekend, Trump and Giuliani launched some of their most personal attacks to date against Mueller, claiming the special counsel personally has conflicts of interest - including an unnamed "contentious business relationship" - that should preclude him from running the investigation.

Ethics experts from the Justice Department determined a year ago when Mueller was appointed special counsel that his participation in the matters assigned to him is appropriate.

'Because he has the conflict, not the president, ' said Giuliani. "But there's no collusion", Trump said.

Pressed further on the details of the conflict, Giuliani said, "I can't tell you". I have a good idea.

Seems like a simple enough strategy, but Giuliani can't keep his mouth shut when it counts. But that doesn't change the potential legal fallout stemming from the Russian Federation investigation, which could touch on laws against computer hacking, election fraud and conspiracy against the United States.
