President Trump insults LeBron James’ intelligence

James' I PROMISE School, where "Nothing is given".

James did not hold back on his thoughts about Trump during his interview with Lemon. In the tweet, Trump insults Lemon's and James' intelligence and ends it by saying, "I like Mike!"

James received publicity during the week for opening his new school in Akron, Ohio.

"Trump has only called Don Lemon & Lebron James "dumb" and he repeatedly refers to Maxine Waters as 'low IQ",' one man wrote.

Trump's tweet on Saturday was swiftly condemned by many on social media, including Dan Rather, the former CBS News anchor, who said the president's words were racist. The President ended his tweet with the seemingly unrelated exclamation of "I like Mike!"

But Lemon and James, the three-time National Basketball Association champion and four-time league MVP, also touched on a few other subjects that led to Pres. Donald Trump, who must have been watching CNN Friday night and the Lemon-James interview specifically, tweeting out decidedly un-presidential attack on Lemon and James' intelligence.

He didn't say anything specific about Trump's tweet.

James had just opened a school for underprivileged children in Ohio. James said that he wouldn't have anything to say to Trump if he met him in person, joking that he'd "sit across from Barack [Obama], though".

"This is apparently what the President of the United States feels the need to share with the world at what should be long past his bedtime?" Trump had also previously made the move of preemptively not inviting James' Cavaliers and their Warriors opponents last season, when both James and Warriors star Steph Curry said neither team had an interest in visiting the White House as NBA Champions. Not one word or follow-up that takes issue with anything either man has actually said. "Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!" "I know the streets that they walk".

After Trump's late-night tweet, the internet seethed at him.

CNN's public relations arm also responded to president's tweet on Saturday.
