Based on the company's new Turing architecture, the new graphics card focus on real-time ray tracing application in gaming as well as artificial intelligence. Asus has also announced the availability of Strix, Turbo, and Dual variants of its cards, but pricing has not yet been revealed.

Powering virtual reality apps easily and supporting over 8K UHD, the Acer Predator Orion 9000 series gaming desktops feature up to the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti GPUs, and up to an Intel® Core™ i9 Extreme Edition processor with 18 cores and 36 threads. "Once you see an RTX game, you can't go back".

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, announced during the presentation that the RTX 2070 will have a starting price of $499, RTX 2080 at $699, and RTX 2080 Ti at $999.

The GeForce RTX series GPUs feature new hardware that Nvidia is calling RT cores to allow hardware acceleration of light rays in real time, which has never been possible before.

After a two-year wait, Nvidia (NVDA) on Monday offered an in-depth look at its next-generation graphics cards, which the company claims will "reinvent computer graphics". The RTX listings for the cards have since been taken down.

The 2080 and 2080 Ti will be on shelves on September 20, while the 2070 will be available in October.

Gamescom 2018 has been given an incredible start from Nvidia by announcing their new high-end graphics cards, the GeForce RTX 2070, RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti. Turing - which delivers 6x more performance than its predecessor, Pascal™ - redefines the PC as the ultimate gaming platform, with new features and technologies that deliver 4K HDR gaming at 60 frames per second on even the most advanced titles.

Below you will find a video showing the Infiltrator tech demo running on a GTX1080Ti (do note that SLI is not working in this video so only the one GPU was being used, and that the tech demo NVIDIA showcased was running at higher settings than those featured below).

The new GPU architecture has been created to support Nvidia's RTX suite of hardware and software algorithms to help generate ray tracing on the fly, hence the switch from the GTX nomenclature to the RTX prefix. In short, ray tracing technology is capable of more realistic global illumination and accurate projections of ambient light, and affords the ability to efficiently calculate the reflections and light sources that exist outside of the screen space. The technology that most graphics solutions now use to create their model is called rasterization, and it simulates objects as a collection of polygons, works out the interaction between those shapes, and then turns that into pixels that get displayed on your screen.
