CD Projekt Red releases full gameplay demo for Cyberpunk 2077

"Since numerous assets and mechanics in the current version of Cyberpunk 2077 are most likely to be modified, we initially chose to show this gameplay only to media".

First and foremost, the new demo features a playable male character - modeled to look like the one shown in the E3 2018 trailer - while the E3 demo was locked to the female avatar.

The stream is now titled "Data Transmission in Progress_", with lines of white code streaming by on a black background.

Developers CD Projekt Red has begun a odd stream on Twitch, under the Cyperpunk 2077 category.

The demo also showed off some of the customization options that players have in regards to their gear. CD Projekt Red has previously stated that they are aiming for a current-gen release date, so it's plausible we might not see the game until late 2019 at the earliest or even 2020. The location is the "most violent and unsafe metropolis of the corporate-ruled future". CD Projekt Red takes us through the entirety of the demo we've all heard about, and despite it very definitely still being a work in progress, it looks fantastic.

Gamers were quick to speculate that the code could potentially be an upload of the Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay demo files.

"Yes, it is a part of the game, and that's why I don't want to call it a vertical slice". The demo appears to be 48 minutes long, so we'll update the Twitch embed with the full trailer when the stream ends and the demo video is uploaded. We still don't have a release date, but CD Projekt Red told us at Gamescom that they've got a build that runs through the game from start to finish.
