Unai Emery reacts to Arsenal’s tough Premier League start

The Red Devils finished second in the Premier League last term and will be looking to start on a high as they plot to challenge fierce rivals Manchester City for the Premier League title.

Our opening game sees us travel to Huddersfield before taking on Arsenal at home.

Oddly, for the third consecutive season, we lock horns with Arsenal and Chelsea in consecutive games.

They will then play another away game at Watford on September 1 before the worldwide break after the Hornets agreed to reverse the fixture.

Liverpool will play Southampton, Man City, Cardiff, Fulham, Everton and - in a particularly ironic twist - Man United at home in the domestic games directly proceeding Champions League nights.

Four rounds of Premier League fixtures are scheduled to be played before the first global break, which is over the weekend of 8 and 9 September.

Fulham's first game back in the Premier League sees former boss Roy Hodgson make the short trip across London with his Crystal Palace side.

The first north London derby (Arsenal at home) is December 1st. Arsenal and Tottenham will be at the Emirates on the weekend of December 1, with the return on March 2.

And the key fixtures remain the first that demand the attention, with the titanic battles between the main title challengers always primed to be pivotal dates in the calendar.

Jose Mourinho is reportedly furious about the scheduling of some of Liverpool's Premier League games next season.

The games against Manchester United will first be staged at the Etihad Stadium on 10 November, while the game across the city at Old Trafford will be featured on 16 March.

"Lionel is younger and he can, perfectly possibly be in the next World Cup", the Manchester United manager said of Messi, who turns 31 during Russian Federation 2018. Guardiola will hope to finally get the better of Jurgen Klopp when he goes to Anfield on October 6, or at the Etihad on New Year's Day.
