Trump says first lady had 4-hour operation

Since Rudy Giuliani became President Donald Trump's lawyer, he's made a lot of wild and outrageous claims.

Her presence at the hurricane event outside the White House has prompted a proper storm on social media.

Two White House journalists said they were present when the first lady was spotted on May 30, and reported at the time that she looked well.

Inside Edition spoke to Kate Anderson Brower, Washington insider and author of the new book "First in Line: Presidents, Vice Presidents, and the Pursuit of Power", who says Melania is making it worse by staying out of the spotlight and her office should fill that hole. During her recovery from surgery they reported everything from near death, to facelift, to left the W.H.

Grisham dismissed the media speculation as "nonsense".

She was treated at Walter Reed hospital on May 14 for what aides called a "benign" kidney condition and was released on May 19.

"I'm amazed Mrs. Trump has been able to do it", she told AFP.

Several 19th-century first ladies spent long periods out of view.

The first lady is not an elected position, and Melania Trump is under no obligation to keep the American people abreast of her health, activities or whereabouts. But over the past half century, it has become the expectation that people know the basic narrative of the first lady's activities.

After undergoing an embolization procedure to treat a benign kidney condition almost a month ago, First Lady Melania Trump is set to appear today with with her husband at FEMA headquarters. Scarborough snarked. Because, of course, exactly one year ago this month Trump tweeted that Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski came to Mar-a-Lago around New Year's Eve, and "insisted on joining me".
