Roseanne Barr: "I Begged Ben Sherwood" To Save Show And Jobs

Gilbert was one of many stars reacting to Barr's comment about Ms Jarrett and the cancellation of the sitcom.

In another tweet to a fan, Barr revealed she had forgiven Gilbert, 43: "I understand her position and why she said what she said. i forgive her". They do it because we have a white trash racist president.

Arnold, a former writer on the original "Roseanne" suggested that Barr's support of President Donald Trump's conspiracy theories played a part in her downfall.

From Channing Dungey, President of ABC Entertainment: "Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have made a decision to cancel her show". "She's allowed to have an opinion but this was different ... this was untenable", the source said.

After previously directing her Twitter followers "Don't feel sorry for me, guys!" and not to boycott ABC, the Roseanne co-creator is seemingly doing an about-face, lashing out at her co-stars for distancing themselves from her tweet and rallying her supporters.

"I had some disagreement with her foreign policy", Barr said demurely.

Barr still claims she was just joking when she compared Jarrett to "Planet of the Apes" and the Muslim Brotherhood in a tweet on Tuesday morning.

Disney is the parent company of ABC TV network, which on Tuesday dropped the rebooted '90s sitcom "Roseanne" amid a ferocious online backlash against its star.

Later, Barr denied that she was putting the blame on Ambien, saying it was "just an explanation not an excuse".

"This is what I'm gonna say, Roseanne, just because you were caught with your trousers down, don't try to drag other people down with you", Goldberg chided. She criticized Democratic financier George Soros and tweeted that Chelsea Clinton was "Chelsea Soros Clinton", implying she was married to a nephew of Soros.

Actress Minnie Driver tweeted: "So proud of @ABCNetwork for having the ethical compunction to cancel #Rosanne despite the show's huge numbers. I hope the good work done is not totally eclipsed by those abhorrent and offensive comments, and that Roseanne seeks the help she so clearly needs". But they were sad for other people who worked so hard on the show, which had a loyal following.

Goodman said if that's the case, "then you've heard more than I have". Barr posted the tweets after a holiday weekend of partying and Ambien, according to the comedian and was apologetic at first.
