Fortnite’s Playground mode is still nowhere to be seen

Epic Games has already said that the end is near for the finale of Season 4 in Fortnite.

Players will be updated with additional information on Monday, July 2. Even more so than if they did that in the regular modes, I mean, since your teammates' lives are literally the points you use to win.

The Final Fight game mode forced teams to travel to a third and final circle, where the storm was halted and a countdown clock began.

We want to inform you that the Playground LTM will remain closed for repairs for the night.

Epic Games' newest experiment - Playground Mode - went up briefly earlier this week before being taken down thanks to continued errors with matchmaking and logins for players. The company plans to have an update today on the feature, when and if it will return, but now we're left in the dark.

It's likely that when the developer finally gets Playground up and running, we'll see the mode extended beyond it's originally scheduled downtime thanks to the delays it's seen.

Later Thursday night, a tweet revealed that more testing on matchmaking would be needed before releasing the mode again.

Why is Fortnite Playground down? Essentially serving as the game's practice arena, "Playground" would be a limited-time sandbox-style mode that allows players to take a break from the fast-paced battle-royale formula by roaming through the island with up to three of their friends, without any opponents to shoot at or hide from. You gather resources 10x faster than normal, and there are more llamas and chests to loot. But now we know that whatever is going to happen is going to happen live.
