DICE shows off Battlefield V full multiplayer gameplay, confirms battle royale mode

Today EA announced more details for DICE's Battlefield V title, the first-person shooter set in WWII. Not only did they detail their new features coming to Battlefield V, they dropped the bombshell that Battlefield V will indeed feature a battle royale mode called "Royale" for now.

The move to add a Battle Royale mode to the beloved "Battlefield" franchise was divisive among fans when EA announced it on Saturday afternoon at its annual "EA Play" event in Los Angeles.

Take on classic modes like Conquest or experiences like Grand Operations, where you'll participate in vast historical battles across multiple maps - and modes - and relive moments of bravery and desperation while fighting your way to the final objective.

Which one should you look to play instead?

"No loot boxes, no premium pass", they confirmed to audience applause. Dubbed as simply Royale mode, it will be launched after Battlefield V release date of October 19. Don't expect to hide from tanks in buildings, because they can just smash through them now.

EA is promising that every battle in Battlefield V will be unique, in part because of the new choices available to players.

The footage we see introduces us to a teaser for the multiplayer for Battlefield V with vehicle combat, destructive environments, and a tonne of bullets being showcased.
