The vehicle singing series is a regular feature on The Late Late Show with James Corden on CBS.

A day in the life of James Corden often involves cajoling celebrities into his vehicle as he cruises in Los Angeles, where they enjoy conversation and belt out songs together as part of the "Carpool Karaoke" segment on Corden's Late Late Show.

The guys then ended up at a pub where Paul surprised the locals by performing several songs for an emotional crowd.

Catch McCartney's full Carpool Karaoke, featuring mobile versions of "Drive My Car" and "Penny Lane", up top. "My dad would be in there (the next room) watching telly, we'd be in here, and we'd just written She Loves You, which was a big Beatles hit".

Back in the auto Corden and McCartney sang along to a song off McCartney's new album, Egypt Station (from which he's released two songs). I hope you like it.

McCartney made it even more poignant when he told Corden: "He is".

"Here, this is where me and John used to come to rehearse or write", he explained. "I had to text him back and was like, 'No dude, that's not what we meant.' What we were trying to say was it was uncomfortable to sit in a vehicle and try to sing our own songs". "We expected it to last 10 years but it keeps going on and on and on and it keeps being relevant".

During the film, the pair also visit one of Sir Paul's childhood homes, go to Penny Lane, and pop into a pub for an impromptu performance.

The Late Late Show host then began to cry and revealed that his grandfather and father once sat him down and played him Let It Be.

"I didn't feel it coming, it's too much for me".

We never thought we'd get emotional watching an episode of "Carpool Karaoke", but here we are.
