We've already had our first Severe Thunderstorm Warnings of the evening and with more likely on the way, I wanted to further discuss this evening's risk for Severe Weather. Peak storm chance in Richmond is 4 to 5 p.m.

Storms on Friday night have the potential to be strong with isolated severe storms possible north of a Kansas City to Kirksville line, the weather service said.

Storms will fire well to our west across eastern Wyoming and push east into the area on Thursday evening.

In the Omaha area, the weather service said Friday will bring a slight chance of showers and a high in the upper 70s.

Risks of severe weather are highest from Central Virginia, across central and eastern Maryland and eastern Pennsylvania, and into upstate NY. It was raining at 11:10 a.m.in Easton. But that could easily change in the afternoon.

The entire weekend is expected to be mostly cloudy, with highs in the low to mid-70s on Saturday and barely reaching 70 degrees on Sunday.

Tuesday, there will be a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 86, the weather service said.
