New Mega Man 11 Trailer and Launch Details Revealed

Given the controversy surrounding games that have tried to emulate the formula, such as Mighty No. 9, Mega Man 11's announcement likely came as a breath of fresh air to many.

In this latest installment, Dr. Wily has once again created eight Robot Masters for nefarious purposes. For instance, the Double Gear system is introduced, and it will allow players to use new abilities such as those that slow down time or strengthen attacks.

Capcom's Japanese-language webpage for Mega Man 11 has also revealed a new Mega Man Amiibo that will launch alongside the game. Special weapons gained from defeated Robot Masters will also power up in various ways when Mega Man has the Power Gear active. For starters, Dr. Light's Lab will offer purchasable items to help support Mega Man's progress through the game, including 1-Up extra lives. Brick Man can form blocks out of thin air, while Fuse Man moves with electrifying speed.

Using the Double Gear system, players will be able to enhance Mega Man's speed and power as they play.

Mega Man 11 has a release date: October 2. You'll also have the Power Gear, letting you turn your Mega Buster up to eleven and unleash all sorts of new pain on anything in your way. Those who pre-order the game through a qualifying store will receive a free in-game bonus soundtrack. The game will supposedly include PlayStation Vita Remote Play through Wi-Fi and a difficulty selection just like Mega Man 9 and 10. It will feature a brand new gameplay element dubbed the Double Gear System.

"A variety of difficulty modes makes this the ideal opportunity to experience Mega Man for the first time!"
